Mechanical vapor recompression (MVR):

A mechanical vapor recompression (MVR) evaporator is an energy-efficient technology used in industries for concentrating solutions, recovering valuable resources, and treating wastewater. The core principle of MVR lies in recycling the latent heat from the vapor generated during the evaporation process, significantly reducing external energy requirements.
Working principle
  1. Evaporation: The feed liquid is heated to its boiling point, leading to the formation of vapor.
  2. Compression: The vapor is extracted and sent to a mechanical compressor (fan or blower) where its pressure and temperature are increased using electrical energy.
  3. Heat Exchange and Evaporation: The compressed vapor is then used as the heat source in a heat exchanger, where it condenses, releasing its latent heat to the incoming feed solution, causing further evaporation.
  4. Recycling: The condensed vapor (distillate) can be collected and reused, while the concentrated liquid (residue) is discharged.
