Working principle
- Evaporation: The feed liquid is heated to its boiling point, leading to the formation of vapor.
- Compression: The vapor is extracted and sent to a mechanical compressor (fan or blower) where its pressure and temperature are increased using electrical energy.
- Heat Exchange and Evaporation: The compressed vapor is then used as the heat source in a heat exchanger, where it condenses, releasing its latent heat to the incoming feed solution, causing further evaporation.
- Recycling: The condensed vapor (distillate) can be collected and reused, while the concentrated liquid (residue) is discharged.
